QPR’s late arrival ‘probably some mind games’ says Sheffield Wednesday’s Adam Reach
When the 3pm kickoff time rolled around at S6, QPR hadn’t even emerged yet, and it was only at 3.04pm that the game actually got underway. The second half also started late as the hosts waited for the visitors to come out.
Adam Reach, who created Wednesday’s goal at Hillsborough, admitted that, while it was frustrating, it wouldn’t even have been mentioned had they gotten the job done.

Hide AdSpeaking to the media after the game, Reach said, “It’s not ideal… It’s not against the rules I suppose, they can come out as late as they can because nothing can really happen.
“On their side of things there’s probably some mind games and it did frustrate us a little bit, but that’s the way it is. If we’d gone on and won the game then it wouldn’t have been an issue.
“I think over 90 minutes we did enough to win the game, and unfortunately a lack of concentration right at the end cost us.”
Meanwhile, when Owls boss, Garry Monk, was asked why their opponents were late out, he replied, “I don’t know… It wasn’t great was it, things like that are down to officials to enforce.”
