Hidalgo was snapped up by SWFC from Triestina in Italy earlier this year, and the Benfica youth product will be looking forward to trying to force his way into Monk’s first team plans for the season ahead.
Hagan, who is still just 18, steps into the senior setup as Monk continues to search for a striker, with Jordan Rhodes still the only recognised number nine on the club’s books at present.
Meanwhile, new coaches, James Beattie, Darryl Flahavan and Andrew Hughes, are all hard at work at Middlewood Road already having joined the club as part of Monk’s technical team for the new season.
