The Owls have been much-improved since the restart in terms of performances, however have picked up just four points from a possible 12 in the games since football resumed, most recently losing 2-1 to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Now, as Monk’s side prepare for battle against a Preston team that last won back in February, he’ll be eager to grab a result at home to end their four-month wait for a win at Hillsborough.

Hide AdAlex Neil’s side are six points clear of Wednesday in 10th place, and still have an outside shot at reaching the Play-Offs this season.
When asked what kind of threat PNE pose, Monk replied, “The same as everyone else in the Championship… You know everyone is fighting for results, and we know about their squad. They’ve been a real competitive squad over the last couple of years now under Alex and they’ve got good players, good quality.
“But for ourselves we need to turn what’s been quite dominant displays in certain periods of games into rewards. That’s what we have to get better at.”
Preston haven’t won any of their last seven Championship games – scoring just three goals – and Wednesday did win 1-0 in their last meeting in S6 back in December 2018, however that form could count for nothing come tomorrow evening’s encounter.
