Honestly, there wasn’t really too much to talk about after what was very much a goalless stalemate at Hillsborough… Jordan Rhodes being subbed off after only coming on at half-time was probably the biggest talking point to be honest.
Both keepers were left pretty much to their own devices during the game, which says everything you need to know about it really. Wednesday did look a lot more comfortable at the back though, and it certainly seems as though Tony Pulis is working on their defensive shape.
After all, if you don’t concede, you can’t lose...
1. Joe Wildsmith - 6
Wildsmith didn’t really have much to do to be honest. He looked comfortable when called upon. Made a good stop late on. Photo: Steve Ellis
2. Liam Palmer - 6
Did what was asked of him at right back, and didn’t do anything wrong again. Decent showing. Photo: Steve Ellis
3. Tom Lees - 6
Solid, made plenty of clearances as usual. Looks more like the Mr. Dependable that he became known for in the past. Photo: Stu Forster
4. Joost van Aken - 6
Van Aken – 7 – Looked ok, been caught out one or twice in the first half but can’t really fault him. Photo: Steve Ellis
