Six players have so far come in, as well as the club’s new intake of youth players, and those who departed have gone far and wide in search of new opportunities; to Italy, Cyprus and to England’s lower leagues.
But where have the bigger names of Wednesday’s summer exodus ended up? Let’s take a look..
1. Morgan Fox
Garry Monk made no secret of his desire to keep hold of Morgan Fox, who played his last game at Bristol City last season after two and-a-half years at the club. Signed for Stoke last month on a three-year deal and is in line for a Hillsborough return with his new club on November 28. Photo: Steve Ellis
2. Paul Jones
A man of mystery. Jones made only a handful of substitute appearances for Sheffield Wednesday in a one-season stint that saw him cover for the absence of Joe Wildsmith. Signed an extension to cover the return of football after the coronavirus suspension. Aged 34, he's currently without a club. Photo: Pete Norton
3. Fernando Forestieri
A Wednesday icon at his best, Forestieri refused an extension to his deal that would have seen him end the season with the club. He signed for Serie A club Udinese in what could be argued as the only real step up by any departing Owls player - from a footballing perspective at least. Photo: George Wood
4. Connor Kirby
A long-time prospect at Wednesday, Kirby didn't quite make the grade and after a successful loan spell at Macclesfield Town was released at the end of the season. Still only 22, he found little trouble finding a new league club and signed for League Two newcomers Harrogate Town. Photo: Chris Etchells
