Andre Green could well make his Sheffield Wednesday debut against Everton this weekend in the FA Cup, and he’s spoken about which position he feels he’s best suited to at his new club.
Green penned an 18-month deal at Hillsborough earlier this week as the Owls made their first signing of the January transfer window, and could well be in line to face The Toffees this weekend after being registered by the club.

He told The Star, “I see myself on the left, left wing is my best position I’d say. But in recent years I’ve been playing up front as a striker. I’m leaning towards that side now, running in behind and stretching the game because of my pace and power. Managers see me and my physicality and know that I can handle it up there.
“Left wing is where I prefer and where I feel I’m most effective, but across the front three – right wing, striker, left wing – I can play any of those positions no problem…
“I can already feel a relationship with Barry Bannan if I do play up front, he’s going to slot the balls in and I’ll be running in behind. I feel at home.”

He added, “I hope so. I think with what’s gone on with the COVID-19 outbreak, there will be a lot of players that need to be called up into the team, a lot of rotation and getting back to fitness. COVID is a horrible thing, it takes your breath away – that’s what the doctors and the boys have been saying.
“It takes a lot out of you, so if boys aren’t 100% then I’ve got every chance of making my debut this weekend. I feel good, really good.”
