The Championship season is back and Sheffield Wednesday can waste no time in getting themselves going, starting with a 12-point deficit that has thrown them head-first into a relegation scrap before a ball has been kicked.
1. GK - Cameron Dawson
Oh it's close - Garry Monk has said so himself, admitting that the decision to play Dawson over Wildsmith last weekend at Walsall was made at the very, very last minute. He kept a clean sheet. Could go either way and wouldn't be perturbed with a look at Wildsmith. Photo: Steve Ellis
2. CB - Julian Borner
Let's make it plain, Borner was poor at Walsall. His inclusion may rest on Chey Dunkley's fitness - we'll know more on that when we speak to Garry Monk later this week - but Borner is strong in the air, something that will be needed against a physical Cardiff side. Photo: Steve Ellis
3. CB - Tom Lees
Turned out a very solid performance at Walsall and looked lighter on his feet, recovered from a trudge of a 2019/20 campaign and without the armband. Battling it out with Borner to keep his place when Dunkley returns, you feel, and has a point to prove. Photo: Steve Ellis
4. CB - Dominic Iorfa
Quite possibly the first name on the team sheet nowadays. Iorfa's strength and athleticism will be important in both boxes. His ability on the ball is underrated and important in this system. A leader. No discussion here, when he's fit he plays. Photo: Steve Ellis
