What Chris Wilder said about record-signing Rhian Brewster after Blades debut against Fulham

Brewster became the most expensive player in United’s history when he joined Wilder’s side from the reigning Premier League champions earlier this month.
Although his presence is designed to solve their problems in front of goal, which were again in evidence during the first-half of the game against Scott Parker’s side, Brewster was omitted from the starting eleven before being brought on after the break.

“Putting the ball in the back of the net is the hardest thing to do, especially at this level, when you see some of the numbers people are paying to do exactly that.”
Although the result saw United and Fulham register their first point of the new Premier League season - they entered the contest on the back of four straight defeats each - it also leaves them searching for their first wins of the campaign. Wilder’s men return to action with a trip to Brewster’s former club on Saturday, when he could make his full debut.
“We’re all working hard,” Wilder said. “We’re not happy with the situation, of course we’re not, but we’ll stick together and put things right.”
