The Slavisa Jokanovic effect grips Sheffield United fans as positivity grows ahead of new season in The Star's big fans' survey

Scores of fans rushed to renew their season tickets after he was announced as the Blades’ new boss at the back end of last week and the appointment has been met with almost universal approval amongst the club’s fanbase.
Jokanović’s track record, having won promotion from the Championship with both Watford and Fulham previously, sees to that. But the football he plays, and his sheer force of personality, combine to make this an exciting appointment for this football club.

Just before last week’s announcement, The Star launched their big Blades fans’ survey and asked supporters how excited they were for next season in the Championship, as things stood.
Things were generally positive, with just over 82 per cent of fans answering either “a little” or “extremely” compared to 14.5 per cent “not very” and 3.3 per cent “not at all”.
The next question – “With the right managerial appointment this summer how optimistic would you be?” – saw things change somewhat. Almost 67 per cent of fans answered “extremely” and 29.9% “a little” – 95.5 per cent positivity.
The question of who fans wanted to replace Chris Wilder at the helm saw more than 80 per cent vote for Jokanović. There’s a long way to go; but the early signs are good for the Serb in terms of having fans onside as the Blades look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
