Jesse Lingard is a player who has been linked with a move to Bramall Lane practically every day this month, with talkSPORT transfer guru Alex Crook the latest to chip in on the saga.
Crook told White and Jordan on talkSPORT: “Clubs are literally queuing up for Jesse Lingard, not just in England.
“West Ham, Tottenham, and Sheffield United have all expressed an interest.
“We know about Nice, Porto have also been mentioned to me, but Manchester United’s stance hasn’t really changed.
“Despite the fact that Lingard isn’t part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, he’s reluctant to trim his squad.
“So I think this is one that will go right to the end of the window when Solskjaer can assess his squad, see who’s fit and see if he can let Lingard go out and play football.”
As reported by The Star earlier in the week, the Blades believe they have a genuine chance of signing the 28-year-old, despite their ugly position in the league table.
Representatives acting on behalf of Chris Wilder are already thought to have met with Lingard and his team, and the United boss suspects the player himself would prefer to remain in England.
Indeed, Lingard won’t be short of options should Solskjaer sanction a loan exit before the deadline on Monday, February 1 at 11pm.
Here’s a round-up of some of the other transfer rumours involving Sheffield United and their Premier League rivals this morning:
