Hide AdFootball Insider report that the left-back has caught the eye of senior staff at Bramall Lane, with boss Chris Wilder reportedly keen on a left-back that can also play as a left-sided centre-back when needed.
The same report suggests that Premier League rivals Watford are also keen on a move for Benito, so the Blades may have some competition for his signature.
Benito featured in the Champions League six times last season for previous club Young Boys, and has also been capped at international level by Switzerland.
