Government advice yesterday stated that mass gatherings, including sporting events could continue to go ahead but that stance could be changed today.
The Premier League and the EFL are meeting seperately today to discuss the upcoming fixtures and it’s looking likely at this stage that this weekend’s fixtures at the very least will be postponed.

Hide AdThat comes after it was revealed last night that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi had been struck by the virus.
Everton also confirmed this morning that the team are in self-isolation after a player reported symptoms.
With Sheffield United due to head to St James’ Park tomorrow, Magpaies boss Bruce said this morning that Premier League fixtures should be postponed, and added that he wasn’t keen on matches being played behind closed doors.
"I think it is strange and difficult - not just those involved in football,” he told the media.

Hide Ad"We have prepared for the game, people have said behind closed doors but the game is about the supporters and their welfare is the most important thing.
"We will continue to prepare as normal but we are waiting for a phone call.
"There is a meeting at 10.30am so we will wait."
He added: "You play football to be in front of fans and playing behind closed doors is not the answer.
"Suspend it, shut it down and play it at a later date. I think football is played for the supporters.

"In my opinion, suspend it and wait for the all clear. I think the phone call will be to suspend it, I don't think there is any alternative."
