Aaron Ramsdale reveals David McGoldrick's post-match admission after Sheffield United's defeat at Chelsea
With United trailing 1-0, McGoldrick headed wide John Lundstram’s cross when it looked easier to score and the Blades couldn’t find a way to end Chelsea’s long spell without conceding a goal, with Hakim Ziyech adding a late second to put the game beyond any doubt.
And United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who earlier made a good save from Christian Pulisic after being beaten by Ollie Norwood’s own goal, said: “Didzy put his hands up and said he should have scored, but we’re getting into those areas and if that goes in, we’re on the front foot.
“We pressed a bit higher in the second half, I think we released ourselves a little. If we’d have took chances and big moments… everyone knows goals decide games.”
