Doncaster Rovers: Darren Ferguson outlines plans for '˜development group'
Rovers will have a ‘development group’ from next season onwards to help bridge the gap.
The likes of Alfie Beestin and Tony Donaldson - both plucked from non-league by Ferguson - will be part of the squad.

“We’re going to have another group next season that will be classed as the development group,” said Ferguson.
“They’ll do extra sessions and things like that.
“And we’ll add people to that and chop and change who plays in certain games.
“But I feel we’re in a position now where we want to do that. I didn’t think we were last season.

“A big thing for me is that we get our own young players through.
“That may take a little longer, but it’s certainly one of the aims for the club moving forward.”
Rovers have confirmed that they will travel to National League side Guiseley AFC for a friendly on Saturday, July 22 (3pm).
They have already announced games with Armthorpe Welfare, Tadcaster Albion and Derby County.
