Chesterfield snap up experienced ex Barnsley, Preston and Scunthorpe defender
The 31-year-old Gibraltar international was released last week by Scunthorpe United, having played 28 times in their ultimately unsuccessful promotion push this season.
A right-back by trade, Wiseman can also play in the heart of a defence.

Wiseman, who already had loan spells at Boston United and Rotherham United under his belt, moved on to join Darlington before a three-year stint with Rochdale.
The 2009/10 season saw him win promotion with the Dale.
After 114 appearances for Rochdale he departed for Barnsley alongside Matt Done, for an undisclosed fee.
Chesterfield’s assistant manager Steve Eyre, who took over at Spotland that summer, allowed the duo to leave, saying at the time: “They have the chance to play at Championship level and I’m not going to stand in their way.”

Their May 2015 promotion to the Championship via the play-offs, at the expense of the Spireites, was followed by Wiseman’s release.
He then joined Scunthorpe, for whom he made 55 appearances over the last two seasons.
Wiseman has 10 caps for his country, for whom he qualifies through his mother.
