Winning pupils' footy prizes
Esme Fowler, Chloe Evans, Dylan Belfield and Emma Wright were chosen the winners of Meersbrook Bank Primary School’s Christmas card competition, organised by Yorkshire companies GMI Contruction and Northern Regeneration.
And now all four children have collected their prize, signed Sheffield United football shirts which they received on the pitch at Saturday’s United game, against AFC Wimbledon.

A spokesman for the school said: “There were some fantastic entries, and the overall winner was Esme with her ‘Elf and Safety’ design. As the first part of her prize, Esme’s design was displayed on a large digital advertising board next to the Sheffield Digital Campus, where GMI are currently building Acero, a major new office building for Sheffield.
“The second part of the prize came on Saturday when Esme, and the three runners up, took to the pitch at Bramall Lane during half time.”
Esme, who is in year five at Meersbrook Bank, said: “I really enjoyed making the cards and was really excited, and a bit nervous, about collecting my prize.”
