WEATHER: Frosty conditions to be washed away by rain on Thursday but cold weather could return - until March
Widespread rain is expected on Thursday with the downpours set to wash away the frost and melt the blanket of snow covering some parts of the UK.
But forecasters have warned that the chill will return and could even last until March.

Hide AdSheffield is expected to be breezy with light rain on Thursday, with highs of 5 degrees and lows of three.
Friday is due to be breezy with sunny intervals and highs of 5 degrees.
Met Office forecaster Alex Burkill said: "Really much of February and perhaps even into March it is going to stay on the cold side, so temperatures generally below average, with further frosts and also the risk of rain, sleet and snow, as well."
Yellow weather warnings for snow and ice remain in place for the South East and western areas of England, Wales and Scotland, as well as all of Northern Ireland.
