Watch out, Grinch is stealing into town
The play, which was adapted by Sheffield’s Limelight Scripts from Dr Suess’ book How the Grinch Stole Christmas, tells the tale of the Grinch, who is a bitter, cave-dwelling creature with a heart ‘two sizes too small’.
He descends on a nearby town and, by means of serial burglary, deprives the residents of their Christmas presents and decorations and prevents Christmas from coming. But, being a Christmas play, things turn out all right in the end.

The Drama Shop’s Sharon Haydon said: “The Grinch has never been performed in Doncaster before and it’s a brilliant piece so it’s a bit of a coup for us to be putting it on.
“The performance is a mixture of traditional and modern so there should be something for the youngsters and for mums and dads as well.”
This year’s play sees the Drama Shop move from their traditional panto venue at the Little Theatre to a stage at Elmfield House in Bennetthorpe – the first time they’ve strayed from the King Street stage in 12 years.

“The stage at Elmfield is fantastic though and I’m sure we’ll be very happy in our new home.”
And, if you fancy treading the boards this Christmas – there’s still a chance because a few choice roles in the Grinch are still to be cast.
Sharon said: “We are looking for a few more performers.
“There are parts available in the play and we don’t start rehearsals until next week! If anyone is interested they can call me on 01302 313071.”
