A 22-year-old man was shot as he walked through Meersbrook Park at about 6.25pm yesterday.
Armed police have been conducting detailed searches of the area but the suspect has still not been caught.

Hide AdStaff at Carfield Primary School, just 200m from the park, are now offered additional support to pupils.
A school spokesperson said: "Our thoughts go to the young man injured in the park last night.
"We will reassure children that this is a rare occurrence."
Meanwhile, a number of park users expressed their concern today that the attacker is still at large.
Lindsay Moore, a mum who lives close to the park and witnessed armed police responding to the shooting, said: "There were school kids walking up and down the road where armed police were this morning.

Hide Ad"It is very worrying to think they are still out there. It would be good if police issued a description of the person they are after.
"I mean are we supposed to be looking out for someone? It would be nice to know."
Other residents expressed their shock over the incident describing the area as usually 'nice and quiet'.

Hide AdIn a post on Facebook, his mum said her son was walking to the Cross Scythes pub when the gunman approached and asked for cigarettes and cash.
She said the attacker then 'held the gun to his head', her son turned and the bullet went 'through his neck' and is currently 'stuck in his jaw'.
She is now offering a £500 reward for information on the attacker.
Police have not yet given a description of the shooter and no arrests have been made.
