While it looked like a penalty was to be awarded, referee David Coote stunned the travelling support by booking the Wednesday play for simulation.

"I am here in England two years and I don't talk about referees but three in a row is too much and it cost us points and I think Sheffield Wednesday deserve much more respect," he said.

"It was a massive mistake.," he added. "And I don't understand why. I am sure everyone agrees with me. You all saw it.
"If the Bolton fans are honest they will say it was a clear penalty. And Kieran Lee never dives in that situation. It is a clear penalty and red card.
