Some important local roads remain closed for a longer period due to specific issues. These roads are:
A631 Gainsborough Road - Bawtry
The A631 is still closed due to the River Idle overtopping. The Environment Agency (EA) has advised that any change is unlikely over the next few days, although it is being closely monitored. The EA is currently pumping 24 hours a day at West Stockwith Pumping Station, with high velocity pumps working on the River Idle in the River Trent. The River Idle levels remain stable, although are not currently reducing. Once the River Trent levels drop later in the week, pumping will work even better than it currently is, and the road will be closer to re-opening.
Pastures Road - Mexborough
Washlands adjacent to the highway are steadily reducing as they drain in to the River Don. Once the washlands have drained significantly, the pumping operations can commence. The River Don and the washlands levels have equalised, meaning the river levels of the Don need to drop before any impact is seen and pumping can then take place.
Fordstead Lane - Arksey

This will allow the floodplain to be pumped back into the Ea Beck, however this will take at least several days until water levels reduce enough to allow cleansing of the road and reopening it.
