Survey reveals 59% of Americans have never heard of Doncaster One Direction star Louis Tomlinson

The survey, which was set up to reveal how much Yanks know about the UK, uncovered that fellow singer Ed Sheeran is more well-known than Louis and his bandmates in the states.
The study for www.holidaycottages.co.uk surveyed 2,000 US citizens and found out that One Direction's fame could be fading faster than we thought.

Hide AdMore than 59% of respondents said they didn’t know who Louis Tomlinson was. More people knew who Sheeran is than Louis - with only 32% saying they didn’t know who they were.
Interestingly, only 1% of Americans think of the Spice Girls when they think of the UK compared to 2.1% who said fish and chips reminds them of the UK.
Harry Potter is the most attractive film to bring the US public to the UK with over 28% of respondents saying this made them want to visit. This is followed by James Bond with over 25% and The Parent Trap with 12.5%.
Over 65% of respondents said that they didn’t know what a jumper (sweater) was. And a bad surprise would come to those who think wearing pants at work is acceptable.

Hide Ad17.95% of the US said that their favourite royal was Queen Elizabeth II. Interestingly, men prefer Queen Elizabeth II than women with over 21% of men saying she was their favourite royal compared to just over 16% of women.
Women’s favourite royal is the Duchess of Cambridge with over 13%.
Fish and chips are the most known foods to US citizens with over 82% of respondents saying they had heard of them followed by Yorkshire Puddings with over 62% and steak and kidney pie with 40%. The least known foods were Bakewell Tarts with only 5.3% saying they had heard of them.
