Sheffield students' big donation to city's homeless
The Year 12 Health and Social Studies group worked in collaboration with Sheffield-based charity, 'Help the Homeless' throughout December, to collect items that were in urgent need across the city.
Y12 student Zuleikha Iqbal said: 'We have worked hard to promote the message of giving across the school and raised many donations for the homeless.

'These donations were sent, at the end of December, to our local soup kitchen, and to the shelter in Sheffield city centre, where they were distributed on behalf of ourselves to support vulnerable people over this challenging festive and winter time.
'We spent a great deal of time sorting through the donations to organise them into easy and accessible categories, to make it as simple a job as possible for the charities that would be receiving the goods.
'We have also since been in touch with local companies to enquire about the potential to take the donations to a higher level. As a Y12 Â group we hope to keep this momentum up and continue distributing essential items such as self-care packages to the homeless people of Sheffield into the new year.

'As a group, we are keen to ensure we keep up this hard work and dedication towards helping those who are not as fortunate as us.'
Christmas may be over, but with months of cold weather ahead, the need for support isn't. Visit archerproject.org.uk for details on staying involved in 2019.
