Sheffield gets £60,000 from Home Office towards tackling extremism
Officers yesterday accepted an offer from the Home Office to create the specialist role within the council.
The co-ordinator would be responsible for counter-extremism work across the city.

Hide AdAccording to the job description, this could include setting up partnerships to build 'stronger and more cohesive communities', working face-to-face with people from various parts of the city and organising multi-agency meetings.
The role is described as 'high profile'
The money is part of the Government's counter-extremism strategy. It will cover a period from April 1 this year to March 31 in 2018.
