Sheffield firm donates wellies to help child refugees
Poco Nido, a children’s footwear and clothing brand, donated the wellies to the charity Aid Convoy, which will give them children in need and will replace broken and worn shoes.
The wellies form part of a larger shipment, which will also contain tinned food and clothing to be handed out to refugees.

“For many their shoes will be damaged, too small and no longer fit for purpose.
“After seeing an advertisement on TV about the impact the cold weather is having on refugees, we knew we had to do our bit to help. We encourage other local business to dig deep and do the same too.”
Asim Shafaq, of Aid Convoy, added: “Each shipment of aid costs approximately £3,000 - £4,000 to send to Syria.

“The donation of wellies from Poco Nido will go a long way to provide some warmth and comfort for children in Syria.”
The wellies were shipped to London free of charge by logistics company 512.
Poco Nido was founded in 2011 by footwear designer and mum-of-two Catherine Lobley, who was fed up at the lack of boot styles available for children.
The firm has over 70 stockists and three distributors worldwide.
