Richelle Houlden wins three golds at prestigious competition as Sheffield Diving shows great strength in depth

Sheffield diver Richelle Houlden landed three gold medals at the Senet Cup, a renowned international competition in Eindhoven.

She won the 1 metre and 3 metre springboards and platform events.

The City of Sheffield Diving Club member was so dominant in the 1 metre event that she won by more than 46 points, achieving her highest score with a reverse 1½ somersault dive.

Her best dive in the 3 metre springboard event was an inward 1½ somersault which scored 44 points.

Jessica Vega also won gold, taking the 14/15 years platform competition.

Harrison Case produced the best performance among the boys. He took a silver medal in the 1 metre springboard event and won bronze medals on the 3 metre springboard and on platform.

His best dive was a reverse 2½ somersault on the 3 metre springboard which was awarded 63 points.

Harrison Hartley won a bronze medal in the 12/13 years 1 metre springboard event.

Oliver Hoban, Molly Bulmer, Frankie Curtis, Adam Charity, Isaac Trueman-Marsden and Joseph Pashley also produced good performances.

Assistant head Ccoach Nigel Mills said: “This was excellent international experience for our team of up and coming divers who produced some outstanding performances.”
