The market has been closed since lockdown measures were introduced in late March, and will now open with safety measures in place.
A one in one out system will be introduced to limit the number of customers to 50 at any one time, and customers will only be able to enter the market at the Drummond Street enterance.

Councillor Denise Lelliott, cabinet member for jobs and the local economy said: “We are delighted to be re-opening the outdoor covered market from Monday June 1. This another step in the phased re-opening and recovery of our town centre.
“Our markets team has worked extremely hard to put measures in place to protect the public, traders and our staff and their safety remains our number one priority.”
The council say that the Tuesday Street Market, Crafters Market and Bazaar Market need further work on risk assessments before they can reopen.
