BREAKING: Labour have lost control of Sheffield Council for the first time in a decade
In the most recent results Broomhill and Sharrow Vale Ward has turned Green, following the Hillsborough seat also swinging to the party from Labour and council leader Bob Johnson.
The Greens also gained Walkley in a rollercoaster day that also saw Sheffield’s first Conservative councillor in 20 years elected.

Hide AdIt was expected that it would be tricky for Labour to keep hold of all of their seats, but to lose the overall majority is a shocking blow for the party.
This means the council now has now overall control. Labour won the council in 2011, after the Liberal Democrats lost overall control.
