1. LOUIS TOMLINSON
It goes without saying that our biggest musical export is boy band sensation Louis Tomlinson. Finding fame on The X-Factor, his band One Direction have gone onto become a global phenomenom.
2. STEVE HOGARTH
Kendal born Steve Hogarth was brought up on a Doncaster council estate. He replaced Fish as the lead singer of rockers Marillion, best known for 80s hit Kayleigh, in 1989 - and has now been with the band for 26 years.

Hide AdThe Sykehouse-based hitmaker hit the US number one spot with St Elmo's Fire in 1985 and has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry in a glittering career which began on the local clubland scene.
4. TONY CHRISTIE
Is This The Way To Amarillo star Tony Christie was born in Conisbrough - and also toured the local pubs and clubs before finding nationwide fame with songs such as Avenues And Alleyways and Solitaire.
5. LESLEY GARRETT
The so-called Donny Diva actually hails from Thorne. One of Britain's leading opera stars, she has also found fame outside music, appearing on Strictly Come Dancing and as a TV presenter.
6. DENNIS ROLLINS
A giant of the world of jazz, the trombone star is one of the hottest musicians to have come out of Doncaster. The jazz funk star has appeared at famed venues such as Ronnie Scott's and Brixton Academy.
7. JOHN McLAUGHLIN

Hide AdBorn in 1942 and also known as Mahavishnu John McLaughlin, the guitarist, bandleader and composer has tried his hand at many genres of jazz, rock, Indian classical music, Western classical music and fusion.
8. LAWRENCE TAYLOR
Better known as Loz, the Doncaster-born singer fronts Sheffield based metalcore band While She Sleeps. The band have released two albums, Brainwashed and This Is The Six.
9. MICK WHITNALL
Guitarist with Pete Doherty's Babyshambles, the axeman has also worked with Lisa Moorish and Finley Quaye. He was born in Doncaster in 1968.
10. HONKY
The short-lived hip-hop duo who briefly tasted fame in the 90s hail from Doncaster.
