Senprom 2020 has been billed as the town’s first prom for children with special educational needs and is due to take place at the Glasshouse in Kirk Sandall.
However, Nexus Multi Academy Trust, which operates four out of five of Doncaster’s open special schools, has moved to clarify that it is not involved in the project.

Hide AdWarren Carratt, chief executive officer of Nexus, said: “None of our headteachers are aware of this event.
“Whilst I have no reason to be suspicious of the event organisers, I am very concerned that an event is being reported on with the stated involvement of our special schools without that being the case.
“As I understand it, the parents are of children at Stonehill as this event is intended for them.
“The parents are of children at Stonehill School only and they are working with the head there to arrange this. They have every intention of widening the offer to all of the children attending Doncaster special schools, but will still need to speak to individual heads to understand what they presently do for leavers.”
