New Sheffield creative hub to attract film talent to the city
Kurious Arts, a production company based at Castle House, is using the money from The Arts & Culture Impact Fund on the fit out of a new industry standard post production facility.
The hub will be used by “story-tellers” in TV, film or video to create anything from shorts and documentaries to full film features, aiming to attract local film production companies and support emerging content makers from diverse and marginalised communities.

Hide AdAdrian Hackett, partner at Kurious Arts, said it the hub would ‘undoubtably’ bring people to Sheffield whose only previous option was to work outside the region, and would allow it to compete with similar facilities in Manchester.
He added: “It’s not just for the big names to use it is for communities as well, emerging talent.
"You can make stuff anywhere, you can make it on your phone. That’s not the difficult thing, the hard bit is the editing to quality so that’s what Kurious is creating.”
Adrian said the hub would also boost the Castlegate area and the city centre, in conjunction with the outside area of food hall Kommune, also based at Castle House, and the Grey to Green project.
