Massive Moor demolition project kicks off to make way for new markets - VIDEO
The flattening of Eversure House marked the start of the clearing of Block 6 - covering a large area around the middle and lower sections of The Moor.
The huge programme, which is expected to take several months, will see former factories, pubs and offices ripped down to make way for the new markets and student accommodation.

Hide AdIt will create up to 8,000 tonnes of rubble, most of which will be recycled.
Paul Geary, director of Cuddy Group, which is carrying out the demolition, said: "This is a big project and is likely to take a long time.
"We believe a lot of these buildings date back to the 1930s, and we have even found foundations of other buildings beneath them.
"We have stripped the buildings of soft materials and now they will be brought down piecemeal. The whole project will take a number of years and we are hoping to be here quite a while."
