Funeral of young Doncaster man killed crossing road to take place today

Carl Queen, 34, died on July 30 after being struck by a car as he crossed Wheatley Hall Road.
In the days after his death, thousands of pounds were raised by a crowdfunding campaign to help pay for his funeral.

Hide AdThe funeral for Carl, known as Queeny, will take place at Rose Hill Crematorium at 11am this morning.
Mourners have been asked to wear jeans or denim shorts and a white vest or T-shirt to honour his memory.
Coronavirus restrictions mean the number of mourners at the funeral will be limited but those wishing to pay their respects will be able to listen to the service in the grounds of the crematorium or watch as the cortege sets off from his home in Truro Avenue, Wheatley at 10am.
He suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene of the crash which took place at around 11.15pm.

Hide AdHe was struck by a silver Jaguar XF, which stopped at the scene and the driver assisted police with enquiries.
A tribute said: “He was so much loved by every member of his family and all of his friends and he will be very much missed. May he rest in eternal peace with all other friends and family who have gone too soon.”
