From world class music to world class wine at Sheffield drinks shop

Mitchells Wine Merchants in Meadowhead is exclusively stocking a selection of the authentic Italian wines, including a dry sparkling prosecco with subtle flower and fruit aromas.

“I think we are all of us on a stage when we are selling something and it’s a great story”, said Mitchells owner John Mitchell, who recently branched out with a micro-brewery.
“The business has been going for generations - they haven’t abused his stardom.”
Andrea’s talents were discovered in a piano bar in 1995 - but his family’s winemaking dates back 180 years to the early 1700s when distant relatives planted their virst wines in Lajatico, Tuscany.

Bocelli wines are made with hand-harvested grapes indigenous to the Veneto region of Italy and Alberto is a master winemaker.
Their vineyards are farmed without irrigation, pesticides or chemicals - while the fruits of them have earned acclaim in their own right, with the unique weather climate of Tuscany and the geography credited for its flavour.
As well as the popular prosecco, family-run Mitchells - which itself has been going for 80 years - is stocking a sparkling rose, red and white from the Bocelli 1931 Wine Collection, with a price range from £9.99 to £45.

“The prosecco at £9.99 is worth paying a couple more quid for than the cheap stuff as well.”
Mitchells is holding a tasting of the Bocelli wines on April 20 from 6.45pm.
