South Yorkshire Police officer sacked for 'sexual conduct' with teenager while on duty

The officer, whose identity has been withheld by South Yorkshire Police, was axed from the force after a misconduct hearing.
It has not been revealed by the force whether the officer is male or female but bosses have disclosed that the cop was ‘dismissed without notice’ over their actions.

Hide AdThe hearing, held in private, was told that the officer in question ‘engaged in sexual conduct with a teenager while on duty some years ago’.
No other details have been revealed.
South Yorkshire Police said the decision to withhold information is to protect the identify of the complainant.
Disclosing the findings of the misconduct hearing on its website, South Yorkshire Police said: “An officer has been dismissed without notice, following findings of gross misconduct during disciplinary proceedings held from October 19-23.
“The officer was found to have engaged in sexual conduct with a teenager while on duty some years ago.

Hide Ad“The panel, including a legally qualified chair, has determined that no further details will be published in order to protect the identity of the complainant.”
In a statement issued after the force was asked for further details, bosses said: “The decision on publication of this case was carefully considered by the panel, including the independent, legally qualified chair, in line with the Home Office guidance.
“The following direction was given: A notice should be published. It should state that an officer has been dismissed without notice following findings of gross misconduct during disciplinary proceedings held from October 19-23, 2020.
“The officer was found to have engaged in sexual conduct with a teenager while on duty some years ago.

Last month a police worker was sacked for drink driving on their way to work and in September another employee received a final written warning for inappropriate sexualised comments made at work.
In August a former officer was found guilty of gross misconduct for producing a fake witness statement.
