Sheffield man punished for handling stolen goods

David Trueman, aged 59, of Green Oak Crescent, Totley, Sheffield, admitted collecting property that was being stored after it had been stolen, according to a Sheffield Crown Court hearing.
Judge Roger Thomas QC told the hearing on April 30 the property had originally been stolen by another man from a garage during a burglary at Whirlowdale Road, Whirlow, Sheffield.

Hide AdBut Trueman had collected the stolen property from a location at the other man’s bidding, according to Judge Thomas.
Trueman pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods.
He was sentenced to an 18-month community order with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and a Thinking Skills Programme.
Judge Thomas warned Trueman if he breached his order he may face a custodial sentence.
The court heard the stolen goods were recovered by police and the other offender was jailed for a number of burglaries.
