Sheffield Broomhall murder: Everything we know so far

Police have arrested a 51-year-old man, who was present in the flat when emergency services arrived, on suspicion of murder and are appealing for people to come forward to help their enquiries.
Here’s what we know so far:
- Emergency services were called to a flat on Gell Street, Broomhall – close to West Street – shortly after 5am after receiving reports that a man was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived.

Hide Ad- Police have yet to name the deceased or the suspect, who remained in custody on Sunday morning (17 May). No further details are currently known about the pair other than their ages.
- The suspect has not been charged with any offence at this stage.
- There was a police presence at the flat on Saturday afternoon as officers continued what they called “extensive enquiries” into the exact circumstances of the death.
- A window at the block of flats where the body was found was boarded up, but it is unclear whether that damage relates to the incident.
