Police search homes after thieves break into Sheffield gun shop and steal firearms

Hardy’s Gunsmiths on Alderson Road, Highfield, was broken into at around 12.50am on Friday, April 3.
South Yorkshire Police said ‘a quantity of firearms’ were stolen in the raid.

Hide AdThree people have been arrested over the break-in after a number of search warrants were executed across Sheffield in the wake of the burglary in a bid to find the stolen guns.
Two men, aged 38 and 33-years-old, and a 31-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods and remain in police custody this morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Hakin, who is overseeing the investigation, said: “This is a fast-paced investigation and our enquiries are progressing quickly as a dedicated team of officers and staff from specialist departments work together to identify those involved in this incident.
“We have three people in custody and numerous lines of enquiry ongoing, including the review of CCTV footage, house-to-house and forensic enquiries.
