Police release picture of a serial shoplifter who struck five times at a Co-op store in South Yorkshire

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on September 24 how Lee Michael Hoyle, aged 32, of Birdwell Road, near Swinton, Rotherham, struck at the Co-op store, at Swinton, five times between September 5 and 15.
Chantel Lowery-Green, prosecuting, said Hoyle is also subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order with prohibitions relating to shops including the Swinton Co-op and he is also subject to a previously imposed suspended prison sentence.

Hide AdShe added: “The Criminal Behaviour Order was made on February 4, 2019, to run for three years with specific prohibitions in terms of shops and one is the Co-op at Swinton where the five shop thefts have happened.
"He went into the store and was recognised and all the offences were reported to the police.”
The court heard Hoyle stole nearly £500 of goods during the thefts including meat, deodorant and chocolate.
Hoyle pleaded guilty to the five thefts and admitted breaching the CRIMBO and his suspended prison sentence.

Hide AdMark Dooley, defending, said: “He feels he needs some time in custody to sort out his alcohol and drug addiction.”
Hoyle has had a class A drug addiction for the last 17 years and he has resorted back to using class A drugs, according to Mr Dooley.
Mr Dooley added: “He knows he is in a real mess at the moment and he wants to get help.”
Magistrates sentenced Hoyle to 28 weeks of custody. He was ordered to pay £489.60 in compensation.
