Police arrest two people after shots are fired

The man, aged 46, and the 34-year-old woman are in police custody following the incident in Rawmarsh, Rotherham, this morning.
Police said they were called at 2.09am today, Thursday, July 22, to reports of shots being fired at a junction between Kilnhurst Road and Lime Tree Crescent.

Hide AdNo one was injured in the incident and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Murphy, from the Armed Crime Team, said: “We believe this was a targeted incident and have no cause to believe there is an ongoing risk to the wider public.”
Residents have been told to expect to see more police in the area today, with officers conducting house to house enquiries.
