Hide AdSergeant Simon Kirkham, of the Walkley policing team, said: “That afternoon the team were conducting a letter drop and house to house enquiries in relation to cannabis production in the Hillsborough area, with a view to raising awareness and community support.
“Whilst visiting Dixon Road, the offender spotted officers, panicked and then tried to escape by heading to the rear of the property then out of a back window.
“The team were one step ahead of him, with PCSO Tony Hizam waiting on the path at the back of the property. He did a quick u-turn and encountered me at the front door instead.”
Searches of the property saw officers recover cannabis plants worth £70,000.

This sort of detail really helps the team develop a picture of what is going on at an address. We thank you for your support. It’s been fantastic.”
