Man due in court over Ricky Collins murder as police probe into fatal stabbing near Sheffield continues

Martin Mongan, aged 44, has been charged with assisting an offender as part of the investigation into the killing of 31-year-old Ricky Collins in Killamarsh last Monday.
Ricky was found stabbed at the junction of Westthorpe Road and Upperthorpe Road at around 10pm and was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

Hide AdEmergency services had been informed of a disturbance at a house on Westthorpe Road but when they arrived they found Ricky critically injured in the street.
Mongan, of Park Estate, Pontefract, West Yorkshire, was arrested on Friday and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today.
A 43-year-old man from Sheffield has already been charged with assisting an offender and has been remanded into prison custody as his case progresses through court.
A 16-year-old boy from Sheffield who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.
