The man, who was supposed to be looking after a child at the time of the incident, is also accused of attacking the police officers from the Sheffield North West neighbourhood policing team who turned out to speak to him after concerns were raised about his conduct in Crookes Valley Park yesterday.
North West Neighbourhood policing team Inspector Kevin Smith said the man was wanting to fight people in the park after having had ‘far too many’ drinks.

He said the man kicked one of the police officers and then he attempted ‘a flying headbutt’, leading to his arrest over accusations of being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer.
He added: “The child was safely taken home by other officers.
“The child was left with family who were both sober and capable of looking after him. We will refer the incident through to social services and partners to make sure his well being is addressed.”
