The force has had a visible presence across South Yorkshire as they enforce new laws brought in to help delay the spread of coronavirus – and paid tribute to those who have been staying at home for “undoubtedly saving lives and helping to ease the burden on the NHS and our other emergency services.”
However, post on the Off Road team’s Facebook page on Friday said: “We cannot help but notice on our travels around South Yorkshire that it is increasingly busy on the roads, on the parks at retail parks, in fact everywhere.

They said they are one of “a number of teams being tasked daily to breaches of Covid-19 restrictions.”
On Thursday, they dealt with a group who had travelled by car from Doncaster to Thrybergh Country Park to smoke cannabis.
Officers said the cannabis was seized and the group were dealt with under the new coronavirus legislation.
