Hide AdDetectives investigating the murder believe 30-year-old Ahmed Farrah could hold vital information but despite repeated appeals for information on his whereabouts he has not yet been traced.
Farrah, who is also known as ‘Reggie’ and has links to Broomhall, is said to be deliberately evading arrest.
He was last seen in Cardiff one month after Kavan’s death but then disappeared.
A £5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest, which has been offered by Crimestoppers, has so far failed to tempt those with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

Hide AdDetectives have visited friends, relatives and acquaintances across the country to serve harbouring notices, warning that those found to be shielding him face prosecution.
One of the theories is that Farrah may have fled the country.
On the night Kavan was stabbed, Farrah was captured on CCTV at the minor injuries clinic at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, where he was treated for facial injuries.
He returned to the hospital the following day but then disappeared from Sheffield.
