Four years behind bars for ‘remorseless' knifeman who stabbed man outside Sheffield gym

Anthony Taha, aged 48, formerly of Red Fern Grove, Sheffield, was jailed after being found guilty of stabbing the man outside the Empire Boxing Gym on The Green in Darnall on Friday, October 4 last year.
The 33-year-old victim was leaving the gym when Taha stabbed him in the leg, causing serious blood loss and requiring months of recovery.

Hide AdA jury had previously found Taha guilty and he was today (Friday, September 25) sentenced to four years behind bars at Sheffield Crown Court.
Detective Constable Newman Holt said: “The victim’s injuries were so severe he required a blood transfusion due to the amount of blood he lost. His recovery has also taken months, requiring physiotherapy.
“Taha has shown absolutely no remorse for his violent actions last October, refusing to accept responsibility for a very serious offence.
“I am pleased that the evidence gathered throughout our investigation and placed before the courts resulted in the jury finding him guilty of Section 18 assault.
