Everything known about two Sheffield shootings today as four men recover in hospital
and live on Freeview channel 276
- Emergency services were deployed to Grimesthorpe Road, Burngreave, just after midnight after residents reported the sound of gun fire.
- Officers established that a gun had been fired towards a group of men in the street, injuring three.

Hide Ad- The men were taken to hospital for treatment and remain there this afternoon but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
- Two hours later a 53-year-old man dialled 999 to report that he had been shot in Club Garden Walk, Sharrow.
- He was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg but his injuries are also not believed to be life threatening.
- Three weeks before the shooting in Burngreave, a 21-year-old man was critically injured when he was shot in his chest in Grimesthorpe Road. On that occasion a gun was fired from one car towards another in the street.

Hide Ad- South Yorkshire Police said enquiries into today’s shootings are in their early stages but they are not being linked to any others.
- Police patrols have been stepped up in Burngreave and Sharrow and there will be an increased presence on the streets for a number of days.
- Police cordons are in place around the two crime scenes and house-to-house enquiries are being carried out.
- The scene in Sharrow remained cordoned off this afternoon and a number of officers were present, seaching the area and speaking to neighbours. The door window and another window at the property were both boarded up and the vents from the front of the flat were lying on the ground, surrounded by pieces of what appeared to be foam filler, as an officer searched the entrance to the home on hands and knees.

Hide Ad- Shocked Sharrow residents described being woken by two loud bangs before hearing someone running off, with some saying they no longer felt safe living there.
- Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Henderson said officers are doing all they can to ‘build up a picture of the circumstances surrounding both of these incidents’.
- DCI Henderson said the police probes are ‘progressing at pace’ and he said officers do not believe there to be ‘any risk to the wider public’.
