Edale Mountain Rescue team said the climber “landed in a tricky spot on a ledge” after tumbling four metres while descending in the Stanage Plantation area on Tuesday at around 9pm.
A spokesperson said the person was secured by their fellow climbers before a team doctor administered a “strong” pain relief. A rope system was then used to lower the climber onto a stretcher and down to the base of the crag before they were taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital.
