Police and paramedics were called to an address on Exeter Drive in Broomhall at around 4am on the morning of Saturday, December 19.
A 38-year-old man found with injuries to his leg consistent with a firearms discharge and a stabbing was taken to hospital.

Hide AdPolice said a short time ago that the victim remained in hospital today and was in a ‘serious’ condition.
An investigation was launched and a police cordon remained at the scene for much of the day while officers conducted their enquiries.
Additional patrols were put in place yesterday to provide ‘reassurance’ to the local community.
People in the area yesterday told The Star how scared they were of the worsening crime on the estate.

Hide AdThey said the flats were ‘generally quiet’ but had the astmosphere had grown ‘ugly’ this summer when suspected drug dealers moved in .
One spoke of hearing a ‘loud crack’ during the night which he had assumed at the time to be fireworks.
Police said today that enquiries were ongoing and that they continued to appeal for information.
A spokesperson asked anyone who was in the area at the time or who heard anything suspicious to come forward.
