Boy, 17, arrested following reported drive-by shooting in Sheffield

Police were called to Nodder Road in Woodthorpe on Monday, July 6, at around 4.30pm, following a report of a shooting.
A 17-year-old boy from Sheffield was arrested yesterday, Wednesday, July 8, on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Hide AdHe has been released under investigation as enquiries continue, and South Yorkshire Police said people may see more officers in the neighbourhood today.
The arrest comes after a woman described witnessing two men pulling up on a moped outside a house in Woodthorpe before a shot was fired in front of stunned onlookers near shops on Chadwick Road.
She told how there had been ‘a lot of people’ around when she heard bangs and saw someone shooting at houses on the street.
